National Register of Producers (RENAP) Activated

On 7 May 2025, the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) activated the National Register of Producers (RENAP), as provided for by the Environmental Code. The platform constitutes a single national system for the registration, data management and monitoring of operators subject to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)obligations.

Producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), batteries and accumulators, tyres and other product categories subject to EPR schemes are required to register. RENAP replaces and integrates the previous registers for EEE, Batteries and Accumulators and Tyres, ensuring continuity of data while providing a harmonised and interoperable structure. Operators already enrolled in existing registers are transferred automatically to the new system.

The platform enables full digitalisation of compliance procedures, with automated checks, pre-filled fields, interoperability with public databases and secure transmission of information. It also offers a statistical dashboard, containing data on registered operators, product quantities placed on the market and EPR flows. Furthermore, a dedicated regulatory section provides updated legislation and guidance.

For the Tyre Register, enrolments began on 14 May 2025. Additional functionalities and technical guidelines are expected, particularly regarding data quality, standardisation of reporting and coordination with supervisory authorities. Producers and collective systems will need to adapt internal procedures, delegation models and organisational responsibilities in order to ensure correct and timely compliance with the new system.
